Temporary exhibition pays tribute to the 20th anniversary of his disappearance

Dalí d’Or^® & Bijoux de Gala, from 16 october 2009 to 20 janvier 2010

In tribute to the 20th anniversary of Salvador Dalí’s disappearance, the Espace Dalí will become a showcase for gold pieces that the artist designed during the 1960s.

When the artist coined his own Dalí d’Or^®, he wanted to recall the splendor and extravagant period of Louis the 14th. Each coin has his portrait or that of Gala, his eternal muse. In the same way that the Sun King’s portrait adorned the Louis d’Or, the divine Dali decided to make his own currency.

For the first time in France, the Espace Dalí also presents a collection of small gold sculptures enhanced with precious gems, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires, created in tribute to the artist.

Dalinian Pendants, the Tortoise Porte-Dali-Bonheur, the Soft Watch, the Triumphant Elephant, and the Space Venus are some of the Dalinian jewels that you will be able to admire during the Dalí d’Or^® & Bijoux de Gala exhibition.
